Understanding the RSS feed stats

  Looking at the RSS feed stats (beta) on my blog and I see the figures fluctuate over the last few days.
  First day said 14 readers, second day 13, and today so far 13 readers although 6 hours ago it said 0.
  But what does all this mean? If someone has clicked to load up my RSS feed I don’t understand why the numbers would go up and down if it was already in their feed. How come it would say 13 for one day then 0 the following morning?
  Can anyone please explain how the feed stats work? thanks so much.

  Some folks don’t pull feeds every day while others pull many times over.

  Much like some folks have 25 page views within one day followed but hundreds the next day.

  Hi DrMike, thankyou for the reply. I thought the stat was for those that had clicked the rss link, I didn’t think that it did it on a day by day basis.
  Nice to see I have possibly 13 readers on rss though. Makes me feel a bit better about what I am writing :-)

  Just something else if I may, the blog stats (as in visitors) differ greatly from the stats on statcounter.com is there a known reason for this?

  Not that it bothers me greatly, I know people are visiting, it matters not whether its a couple or lots, just nice to get a good idea really. But when the stats can differ so much I am not sure which set of stats I should be looking at.

  Looking at the blog stats within the dashboard. Like yesterday 60 views, today so far about 13 views. Yet my statcounter for today says about 30 views so far. Seems to be quite a different between the built in blog stats and the statcounter.
  Just to add, I do have it set on statcounter that it does NOT count my own visits.

  I also use StatCounter. It could be a time issue. If StatCounter is not set to start and end a day the same as WP then the stats will be off. I know because I was doing this. Add up the views over a couple of days and then compare WP to SC. They should be quite similar. Just a thought.
