Understanding the user guide

Hi. I own a small home business and I want to start a WordPress site in order to post informational segment. I saw one thing it says in the user guide is no advertising. Does that mean that I can not mention my own company and put links to my own company on my WordPress site? This came up while reading all the terms for WordPress and Jetpack. At some point I would like to upgrade to a business version of each. But for now I wanted to try the frees and see if they fit. I just don’t want to violate and of the TOS before I even started.

Hi there,
You can definitely promote your own business on your site for that business. What we don’t allow is using advertising and affiliate networks, like Google Adsense, or turning your site into a classifieds page where other people pay you to stuff your site’s sidebar full of ads and paid links.
