undi site URL change
-
Hi
Made a stupid mistake on a friends wordpress website.
Changed the url to something different and now can’t get back in.
Have been searching for 2 hours and nothing suggested seems to work.
we have no cpanel – not FTP access (tried filezilla but wouldn’t let me access files).
The only was we can undo this mistake it seems is to try and login back into the site anchorponyshow.co.uk (the change we tried to make was to take out the word pony!).
Does anyone have any suggestions?
have tried thnigs like http://codex.wordpress.org/Changing_The_Site_URL
but we can access any php files as we can’t login. Thanks!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there!
If you changed your WordPress.com site address I’m afraid you’ll not be able to change it back. If you change your custom domain name, you have to reactivated it again and map to your site.
Regards.

Hi Daniel
thanks for trying to help in my hour of need.
I went to settings – general settings – then changed wordpress address and siteurl address as stated in this article:
http://www.inmotionhosting.com/support/website/wordpress/wordpress-changing-the-site-url-and-home-settingsDoes this mean there is no way back?
Thanks

Hi Daniel and Supernovia,
I find it hard to believe that a simple change of something on my site, could have such a catastrophic effect, with no warnings which means I lose the whole site.
I can’t export and import because I can’t even get into the account anymore. If I could get into the account I could change things back again.
Is there really nothing to be done?
Thanks, in desperation.

There really isn’t or we would certainly do it. We do show warnings because of that. I wish I could do more.

Okay. So to clarify, WordPress.com is a service that hosts a lot of sites. When you change the URL here on our servers and do not keep the old address, it affects too many things and cannot be undone.
This site is your own WordPress.org installation, though. Or your friend’s, anyway. While it’s totally up to them to maintain it, if they can get into their database or PHP files, it’s solvable. You have the answers in that link. Please note this is at their own risk, and it’s always a good idea to backup first.
If you can’t access those files and what not, ask the host ( clook.net ) if they can help with those steps. Or they may be able to restore a backup they’ve made.
For more help, you’ll want to post in the correct forums at wordpress.org/support — that way folks won’t have any confusion regarding you not being hosted here with us. More info here:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/I hope that helps!
