Undo Account Changes

  I think I have made a mistake. I have blog that I’ve maintained for a few years (ashmeadowsounds.wordpress.com). Now I want to start a new website with a new domain name without the “wordpress” extension. So I logged onto my site/account, upgraded my plan to “Premium” and registered a new domain name. Apparently, that is not the correct approach, because the new domain only works with the old blog site. How do I “undo” these changes to my account and have assurances that the new domain name can be used for my new website? BTW, I sent an email to the Happiness Engineers 2 1/2 days ago without a response. So, I’m hoping that someone in the WordPress community can help out. Thanks in advance.
