Undo on refferer links
-
Not realising what the new Spam things were on the WordPress dashboard – I’ve hovered over bits and pieces and now think I’ve managed to mark as Spam the very things that aren’t, my LinkedIn links and others links to readers which are really important to get visitors into my blog!!! Aaagh!! How can I undo, after the undo has gone? Help! Please!!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

http://meatexportnz.co.nz/ is NOT a free hosted WordPress.COM blog and we do not provide support for it here. You are posting to the wrong support forum. WordPress.com and WordPress.org are completely separate, have different log-ins and run different versions of themes with same names. http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
We provide support only for free hosted WordPress.COM blogs and not for WordPress.org software installs. If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, so you can post to the support forums there and receive advice from WordPress.ORG bloggers.

Ah right, thanks, will try elsewhere then (my WordPress is hosted by GoDaddy)…. confusing!

Don’t do that. I’m going to tag this thread for Staff. Subscribe to it please so your are notified when they respond here.

P.S. I see this sticky post at the head of the support forums here https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/spam-referrer-reporting?replies=1

BTW the link would have helped had I read it BEFORE trying to work out what the Spam thingies are!! I did find it later, that’s when I realised, uh oh ..!!

You’re welcome. Did you try this?
If you change your mind right away, you can click an “Undo” link that the initial “Spam?” link turns into. -

I didn’t realise what it was – by the time I did, the option had gone as the referrer links had disappeared from the dashboard, sadly.
-
Hang in there because Staff can undo what you did. They will, of course, need to know the URLs.
-
Thanks goodness!! There were three or four main ones, I think. One – the most important – was the group of LinkedIn referrals http://www.linkedin.com etc (can’t give exact urls as there were quite a few in the group) and one or two from a reader (but I can’t remember which … could have been oldreader.com or feedly.com). The other I suspect was Spam, so we won’t worry about that one.
Now I know what it’s for, I can see it’s going to be a brilliant tool and I certainly won’t do the same thing again!

When you block something in your referral box in your stats, that means it will stop showing up there, but doesn’t stop someone from visiting your page. (We can’t stop anyone from visiting public WordPress.com sites.)
However, if you block a referrer and don’t undo it right away, it’s permanent.

Sorry about that! We are looking at ways to further enhance this feature, so you may be able to restore referrers in the future. That’s just not an option right now.
