UNDO what I've done! – www.mustlovedogsnw.com is NOT my "blog" whatever that is
-
I was editing our website, http://www.mustlovedogs.com and tried to do something that said I didn’t have an account, so I created one as jen8942 and now I can’t get into the website to edit and there is nothing on this wordpress.com site that I need. And I am now stuck with a jen8942 account that you won’t allow me to delete. I was simply trying to find any of the options listed in the following instructions to resolve this: Please go to “Theme Options > Posts Slider Settings” in your admin panel and enter “Total slides” value. I don’t want to delete anything associated with Must Love Dogs, I just don’t want it tied to this as it is now preventing me from editing the website.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Answer: ustlovedogsnw.com Is hosted by PowWeb
That is not a free hosted WordPress.com blog. You are posting to the wrong support forum. WordPress.com and WordPress.org are completely separate and have separate logins. If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG click this link http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, so you can post to the support forums there and receive advice from WordPress.ORG bloggers.

I know they are not the same, and I think that’s the problem. I was sent to .com from .org to set up an account and wordpress.org now doesn’t work and says that neither of my accounts exist, and I now have a wordpress.com account that has the mustlovedogs “blog”… and what is all this blog talk about? Is that what they call webpages these days? They are all just a big blog? So I need to undo the whole setup and transfer of my mustlovedogs admin account and get it back to wordpress.org so I can update the page.

Hi there,
It looks like your site http://www.mustlovedogsnw.com/ is running the WordPress software available at WordPress.org, and is hosted with another hosting provider, not WordPress.com.
For the differences, please see:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/You might have been directed to set up an account on WordPress.com if you were using any of the following:
Akismet (our spam blocker plugin)
Jetpack (a bundled plugin with social media and other options)
VideoPress (our hosted video service)Creating an account on WordPress.com would have absolutely no impact on your ability to log into your site, so you might try logging back in as usual using the credentials you had used in the past (not WordPress.com login credentials).
What is a blog? That’s a bigger question. All blogs are websites, but not all websites are blogs. Blogs are the chronologically dated way to present information. If you go to a website that has regular updates, that’s likely a blog.

Yes, Jetpack! That’s what I tried to use and then my .org login quit working for mustlovedogs. Thanks! The web company said it screwed up the whole server and we had to pay a tech to fix it. whatever :) I will do my best to make my .com stuff disappear and stay away from websites!
-
Hi again,
Oh dear. We don’t like hearing that Jetpack has caused you any issues, and we certainly don’t want you to stay away from websites! :)
It looks like since you had problems initially, your site was disconnected from Jetpack. Since Jetpack offers a lot of great functionality for your website (see http://jetpack.me/ for more info), you might check with your technical support person about it. It certainly shouldn’t affect a server if the server is running up-to-date software on their end, and if your hosting provider suggests something different, they are welcome to contact us for assistance.
