Undoing boldface in the headline

A bad feature is that there seems to way to undo the boldface that the headline of my most recent post was inadvertently set. When I click on the headline, there is no block menu that pops up as happens with all the text. Thus I can not find a way to remove the bold commands. How do I do so?

  • Hello –

Thanks for getting in touch. Looking at systemicdisorder.wordpress.com I do not see any difference in your recent post title compared to previous post titles. They are publishing the same way, which is dictated by the theme that you have selected.

We do offer advanced customization features with our paid hosting plans. Maybe this is in the budget for your project? Check them out on https://wordpress.com/pricing/ I can answer any questions you have about these different options.

The monthly payment option might be a good starting place. It would allow you to try the advanced customization options, at a low entry price, and you could then decide if it is worth the expense.

Subsequent to my making the inquiry, I seem to have removed the boldface by some unknown accident. The original point I was trying to make is that the block menu that pops up when a writer is in the regular text does not come up in the headline bar. I now know I should make sure the headline is not in boldface when I cut and paste off the document in which I originally write.

But the headine should be like text — the block menu should pop up for it, which would simplify matters. I would consider this a flaw that could be corrected.

Conversely, if you could tell me how to remove boldface from a headline that would be helpful, too. This is a recent problem; it used to be that anything put in the headline bar would automatically be in regular face. Don’t know why that has suddenly changed.

  • Thanks for the feedback on that. Generally, there’s all kinds of text on the site, but headlines generally aren’t formatted individually. That’s why the text formatting options don’t pop up for headings.

But, you can click on the heading and tap into its block options if you’d like. And, as my colleague mentioned, upgraded sites can get global styles so you can make headers consistent (unless you specifically override its settings.)

Please let us know if you have questions. Cheers!

  • Oh, and here’s a little info about the block settings for headings:

    I hope it helps.
