Unexpected clicks in my stats
-
There are clicks in my stats that I don’t recognise as links entered by myself onto the site.
They look like possible spam/ad site clicks? Many start //api.viglink.com although one today starts ads.mobpub.com
This is only a recent occurrence in the past week or so.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I have noticed this in my blog as well, there has been a click on a link I have no idea where it has come from. It started ads.mobpub.com.
My blog is http://headphonedaydreams.wordpress.com/
-
I searched a bit more, and found a few more posts on ads.mopub.com, and apparently they might be from adverts WordPress themselves sometimes run in blogs. https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/why-do-i-have-a-link-to-spam-site-as-a-click-on-my-stats?replies=3
http://en.support.wordpress.com/advertising/
I hope that might be useful to the OP. I’ve no idea about the api.viglink.com one though. Either way, I apologise to the OP if they feel I’ve hijacked their thread, I wasn’t sure if it was better to start a post of my own regarding this issue or to add to an existing one.

Hi there,
These are coming from the ads that are placed on your blog by WordPress.com, specifically the mobile ads.
Ads are visible on your site to users who aren’t logged into WordPress.com. These help us to keep the lights on and provide the base platform for free!
I hope that helps to clear up the confusion!
