Unexplained Failed Login – locked out for 24 hours – need help!

    Hi there,

    Both me (admin) and my other WordPress editor tried to use WordPress today and got Failed Login messages.
    “ERROR: Too many failed login attempts. Please try again in 24 hours.”

    This is strange because neither of us have tried logging in for the last 24 hours and have been working in open sessions. Then suddenly she got logged out and got the message and so did I.

    What would cause something like that? Is it possible the account got hacked and someone tried to log in too many times? In that case, how to unlock the 24 hour wait as we have some urgent work to do in WP today?
