unfiltered spam

  Even with Akismet active, my site still gets more than 50 spams per day. Even worse, valid comments are mixed in with the list of spam. If I trash all spam, I will also miss valid comments. How can I receive only valid comments? Why isn’t the spam filtered out? I don’t want to see a very long list of spam – it is useless and a waste of time. Thank’s for your help.
