Unfiltering videopress files…
-
I need to unblock the videos from my school’s filter. What url must I unfilter to allow my videos through?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
Can you let me know the URL of the site you’re referring to? I believe you should be able to unblock the videos by using the file URL found when you click on the file in your Media Library. If you’re on WordPress.com, the file URL should start like this:
http://yoursitename.files.wordpress.comIf you unblock that prefix, you should be alright.

That is great – thank you. Do I need the .ogg file location (https://videos.files.wordpress.com/) to be unfiltered too?
-
That likely wouldn’t hurt. I think unblocking the files URL should do the trick, but it would be safe to unblock both just in case. Please let me know if you have any trouble!

Thank you again. So far nothing works – whilst the site loads perfectly well all the videos are stripped out. There is no player; nothing but the text in each post. I was hoping that moving everything to a self-hosted blog would help resolve this. It is a little frustrating but definitely a problem with the filtering as it only applies to the students, not to the staff.

Hi!
I’m sorry that didn’t work. Does the IT department at your school only filter the videos based on URL? The filtering setup is really going to determine how or if you can unblock the videos to show.

Thanks for all your help. If I can find out how the filtering is setup I will let you know for future inquiries. I will let you know if it gets resolved.
