Unfollow on Reader and Emails

Hi,
If I were to unfollow a blog on the WordPress Reader will I still be subscribed to their blog via email?This is to say I subscribed to their emails to begin with.

Hi there, when you unfollow a site in your Reader>Manage, it should also cancel your email subscription if that is how you set up delivery in that site’s delivery settings. You can see your delivery settings for each site you’ve followed by clicking on the gear icon below the green Follow icon in the Reader > Manage page.
If that isn’t happening, you can also click the Unsubscribe link in the email itself.

Hi, thanks. Well, I looked at the settings like you mentioned. I didn’t see how to unfollow vs. subscribe.
I want to keep the subscription (emails), but drop the follow in Reader. Once I unfollowed in Reader it unsubscribed me too.
What to do? : )

Hello again if the email you are using to subscribe is associated with a WPcom account, and the site you are following is either hosted on WPcom or using Jetpack subscriptions, it may automatically associate your email address with your WPcom account.
I had a somewhat similar issue a couple of months ago and the only way I could resolve it was by disassociating my old email address entirely from my account. If you don’t want to do that, you might try subscribing using an email address that is not associated with WPcom.

Let me add that if you are using a gmail account, you can subscribe with an email address using a plus sign that will still go to your inbox, but won’t be associated with your WPcom account, like myemail+nameofsite at gmail dot com.
