  I acquired a hosting site yesterday (site ground) and want to clear out my existing work and start anew. How do I do this?

  You’re referring to a self-hosted WordPress.org site, which we really can’t help with here.

  To clear up any confusion, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities: http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

  Ideally, Siteground’s WordPress installer will probably also have an uninstaller, but if not, WordPress.org has complete documentation for self-hosted/installed versions of WordPress.org at https://wordpress.org/support/ and support at https://wordpress.org/support/forums/

  Huh?

  To my knowledge, I don’t have a wordpress.org account. Why would a wordpress.org account effect my ability to install wordpress at the siteground host site?

  I truly don’t understand

  You need an account at the WordPress.org support forum if you want to repost your questions there. This WordPress.com forum can’t help with sites that aren’t actually hosted on WordPress.com servers.
