Uninstall Jetpack plugin
-
Hi
I’m trying to find a way to completely remove and uninstall jetpack from my site, but cannot find a way to do it. After multiple searches there is nothing, currently, that I can find that still works.
Please please tell me there is a way to go back to what it was before jetpack, I can’t use my site to its full potential while it’s still installed.
Thankyou in advance.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hello @mindsetformotivation,
Please post the link to the site in question.Because you cannot remove or add plugins on WordPress.COM sites.
Jetpack is by default active. However, if you are trying to disconnect your site from wordpress.com via Jetpack, follow this guide:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/disconnect-jetpack-sites/Thanks! 🙂

Thanks for your fast reply!
I’m trying to disconnect Jetpack via wordpress rather than the other way round.
My site is http://www.mindsetformotivation.org
Thankyou!

I’ve just looked on my dashboard and there are no toggles.
Just a tick and “active” written next to it. -
I am sorry, you cannot disable or deactivate modules either, i thought that document was for wordpress.com sites, but it’s for wordpress.org.

Hi @mindsetformotivation, you won’t be able to disable Jetpack on a site hosted here. But if you can tell us what you’re trying to do and what’s holding you back, perhaps we can help with that.

Hi @supernovia
Thanks for reaching out to me.
All I want to do is place the following embed code in between the <body> </body> tag of my website:<script type=”text/javascript” src=”https://Mindset.pushconnectnotify.net/embed.js”></script>
Is there a way this can be done?
Many thanks
-
@mindsetformotivation that wouldn’t work for the free sites hosted here. You could do that on your own installation, even with Jetpack.
What does this modification do? Maybe we can suggest an alternative.
-
So if I upgrade my site to the standard package, would I be able to do it?
The modification allows for push notifications to appear when you go to my site.
If you have an alternative that would be great.
-
@mindsetformotivation for this I would recommend your own WordPress.org installation.
-
Okay, so how can I make my current website a “.org” site without losing all the content etc?
-
-
I’m going through these steps, and have set up my new host with a domain I own.
Currently, the domain is set up to forward to my wordpress (free) domain. I’m trying to transfer this to the domain I own but I don’t get the option to transfer my domain.
I’m extremely confused as to what to do next :(
-
Hi there,
What domain are you trying to transfer? mindsetformotivation.org is not registered with us, and you don’t own any other domains via this WordPress.com account. The Transfer domain option will only show for custom domains you bought from us, not for domains you own elsewhere, nor for your free WordPress.com address.
If you want to move your WordPress.com site to a self-hosted site, you need to follow the instructions @supernovia gave you, but you’ll need to check with your hosting provider how to connect your own domain to their servers. Your free WordPress.com address cannot be moved to another provider.

Hi @kokkieh
What I want to do is set-up my mindset for motivation blog so that it falls under the domain of ‘mindsetformotivation.org’ rather than my free and current wordpress domain. I have already connected my blog to my host’s servers under the domain ‘mindsetformotivation.org’.
I may have made things complicated by doing so, which I apologise for if I’m making it difficult for myself!
I hope this makes more sense, thank-you for your support!
