Unique challenge in respect to going from .COM to .ORG
-
Here is the situation:
-I bought a domain from WordPress, and transferred it to GoDaddy. It will take 60 days to be successfully transferred-The domain name that is being transferred is under a wordpress.COM name (screenshot: http://postimg.org/image/k08zupvt3/
-GoDaddy rep helped me download the WordPress.ORG app with the domain, but I am still seeing wordpress.COM
What I am desiring to happen:
I would like to have my domain, ILikeSoMuch.com be associated with a WordPress.ORG so that I can use widgets and other functions. I have no idea if its just a matter of waiting for GoDaddy, or if I need to do something. If I do need to do something, what is that.Thank you in advance for your help and patience.

Hello Joel –
Here’s what’s happening: You’re seeing the WordPress.com site because until the 60 days are over, the domain (ILikeSoMuch.com) still points to WordPress.com.
What you can do: You can follow these instructions to change the DNS here at WordPress.com to point to GoDaddy so that you can use your new .org installation with the domain.

Apparently I had too much caffeine and was complicating this issue unnecessarily…
For future readers, make sure you hit “ADD” and “SAVE CHANGES” after updating your DNS. If you do not click on those after updating it will not take effect.
Thank you timethief and bruceallen!
