Unique Visitors Irregularities
-
I would like to find out the daily number of unique visitors to my website, but the ‘Visitors’ section of the Stats page states a number which doesn’t often match up to the ‘Visitors by Country’ section. Can you clarify this for me?

Hi Scott,
We update the views stat the fastest, as it is the computationally least-expensive stat. The count of visitors to a site can be delayed up to two hours as we compute the various aspects that contribute to that stat.
Likewise, the by-country views stat is delayed slightly as well as we compute where the those respective visitors’ IP addresses are mapped to.
Looking at your stats now, I’m showing views for today at 229 while the country count was at 227 when I started writing this response, but has already increased to 228. Yesterday’s count returned 151 for both.
In short, the views is the most accurate-to-the-moment stats, but all views are accounted for in all sections after computation.
For unique visitors, the visitor count is the metric you’d want to follow.
Please let me know if you have any other questions or need anything else.
