Unknow and unauthorized charge of 18 euros in my credit card

    On december 2, 2016 I was charged 18 euros in my spanish credit card with the concept WPCHRG. I never hired any paid service from WordPress and never even registered a credit card on WordPress, so I would like to know why was I charged. I so I tried to use your website (https://wpchrg.wordpress.com/) to get information on it but the website couldn’t find the charge.

    That sounds like it might have been a domain registration.

    Have you ever had a WordPress.com site? If so, do you remember the URL?

    I am a web designer and I usually create pages for my clients with WordPress, but I always hire the template, comercial domain and host with other companies.

    Three years ago I created a blog with wordpress.com domain with some colleagues for a paper we had to present on a signature at the university. I have been trying to shut down the blog for a few months since we don’t use it anymore but I can’t. I just checked and the domain remains a simple one (a free one) and there is no sign that any upgrade have been made. What I don’t understand is how WordPress had access to my credit card number since I never registered it on the page.

    I am going to the police tomorrow here in Spain to make a complaint against the company and I already talked to my bank to cancel the payment and mark it as a fraud. I will also change my credit card.

    When this is all done I will try again to cancel my free old account in WordPress since it seems it ir the origin of all this headache.
