Unknown error in my bog (I can't publish nor save my work)

    Hello,

    I spent several hours on my blog today writing and suddenly I see that an error message is displayed stating “Update failed. An unknown error has occurred. ”

    Unable to save the draft of what I wrote. I then tried to publish the article I was writing and there, new error message “Publication failed. An unknown error has occurred. ”

    I would like to know how am I going to be able to take care of my blog if nothing works? And above all also, why doesn’t it work?

    Hi there,

    Were you able to retain or retrieve the content you created?

    If this were to happen again and you are not sure whether the content you were working on wasn’t autosaved, I would copy-paste your work in a separate document, just to be safe. I want to see if this is browser-related. If you still have this page open, I would clear your browser’s cache , or I would try to save or publish a blog while under a different browser to see if this error pops up again.

    Let me know what you find.

    Hi,

    Actually, yes : I copy-pasted my text on a personnal document, outside from my blog. So happily, I saved my words.

    I actually I come from the Frenchspeaking technical WordPress discussion board where I posted my topic yesterday (here: https://fr.forums.wordpress.com/topic/jai-des-messages-derreur-sur-mon-blog/#post-117565) and brindille33 told me exactly what you told me about the possibility of compatibiliy issues with my browser and brindille33 asked me if I cleaned the cache of my browser. I replied that my browser is not an unknown and mysterious nbrowser, it is Chrome, which is a well often used browser by many people, and I told that I clean my browser’s cache each single day. And that is when brindille33 invited me to post my question in the Englishspeaking WordPress discusion board as there was not enough WordPress technical staff in the Frenchpeaking discussion board to send me answers.
