Unknown Import

  I would like to import a site I already made to wordpress, it says I need to do that using the unknown importer which I cannot find. Where is it and how do I use it?

  Hi there,

  I’m afraid I don’t know what you mean by unknown importer – we don’t offer any importer on WordPress.com that’s called that.

  What site/platform are you trying to migrate from, and where exactly do you see a message that you need to use this unknown importer? If you got this from a support page, can you give us a link to that page?

  Hello, I ,made a website on GoDaddy and I want to import it to WordPress. When I paste the address, it says it is unknown and I need to add it to wordpress using the unknown importer

  Did you make it using GoDaddy’s GoCentral website builder? If so, it’s not possible to import that, as GoDaddy doesn’t currently provide an export option for sites built on their platform.

  In that case the only option at the moment is to copy-paste the content of that site into new posts and pages on the WordPress.com site manually.

  The import option where you paste your site address only works for sites that are already built using the WordPress software, only at another hosting provider.
