"Unknown" IPs in country stats?

  I am new to WordPress. When I look at my country stats, the total does not match the total views. I have recently tested it out a few times. Usually, when someone logs in, both the total views and the correct country stats go up by one simultaneously. Then, when a friend in Ghana logged in my site, the total views went up by one immediately but the country stats didn’t change. Why is that? If the reason is that the WP system cannot recognize the location of certain IPs, can you please include an “Unknown” line in the stats in order to end the confusion? Thank you.

  Tracking location by IP is not an exact science. If the location of the IP is not registered with the third-party provider that we’re using for location data, it will not be listed in Views by Country.

  Got it. Then a friendly suggestion is to include an “unknown” line so that the totals add up.

  That does sound like a good idea. I added it to the list of things to consider.
