  Hello, I would like to create a very big affiliate website with over say, 3 million products, are there any limitations with woocommerce or with your hosting company?

  Are you planning on hosting your site here, on WordPress.com?

  There are no limits to the product number on WooCommerce, so no need to worry about that. There’s also no traffic limit on our platform.

  To use WooCommerce or any other plugin here, you’d want to check plans Business or eCommerce:

  If you’re thinking about affiliate links and not products, bear in mind that there are some restrictions. We do not allow affiliate links for gambling, get-rich-quick schemes, multi-level marketing programs, disreputable merchants, pornography, malware, or phishing-type scams. We also do not allow sites that exist primarily to drive traffic to affiliate links.

  Thank you so much for your reply. I plan to do mostly affiliates about 70% and 30% physical products. Is that ok when hosting a site on wordpress.com?

  Thanks for your response. The reason I ask the above question is, a staff responds with this message “We also do not allow sites that exist primarily to drive traffic to affiliate links” is this accurate?

  That is correct, you can add affiliate links to your WordPress.com content as long as the primary purpose of your blog is to create original content: https://wordpress.com/support/monetize-your-site/#affiliate-linking

  Hello, and thanks for your response. Before I purchase a plan, can I have a woocommerce site, that has 70% affiliate products and 30% of physical products? I would like it to be a very big website?

  Hi there,

  I think there may have been some misunderstanding above.

  We don’t allow sites that exist primarily to drive traffic to affiliate networks, i.e. by adding affiliate links in the site content.

  But that doesn’t apply to online stores selling affiliate/dropshipping products – those are allowed under our Store Guidelines

  However, you mention wanting to import over 3 million products, and to effectively run a store at that scale you really need some custom development to optimize every part of your hosting setup and the various plugins you use, and that’s not something we offer on WordPress.com at this time.

  So in this case I’d recommend you rather go with a dedicated server on a service like AWS that’s designed to work at Amazon-level scale, keeping in mind that even then you’ll likely need to work closely with an experienced developer to help you optimize everything on your site.
