Unlink Domain

Yesterday I upgraded to a hosting account and briefly had my domain eleanor-anderson.com linked to my WordPress blog. However, I decided to go back to my previous hosting site and canceled the upgrade. I also manually removed eleanor-anderson.com from my WordPress account. I also changed my DNS settings so that my domain is properly connected to my host site. But when I type my domain into the browser, it redirects to WordPress and I get this message: (eleanor-anderson.wordpress.com doesn’t exist. The address eleanor-anderson.wordpress.com cannot be registered. Site names can only contain lowercase letters (a-z) and numbers. But you can sign up and choose another one.) I have been in contact with my domain provider and they don’t seem to have any advice on why this is happening. So I don’t really know what else to do.

Additionally, I have deleted the blog completely, but my registered domain still links to the empty WordPress blog. If anyone can help I’d appreciate it.
