Unlink domain from site no longer in use or accessible

  I purchased a domain a few years ago and connected it to a WordPress site, unpublished.

  I discontinued my project for a year however then decided to repurchase the domain and continue. My previous WordPress account was set up with an email address part of the previous domain package which i no longer have access to, therefore unable to log in.

  My new WordPress account shows that the domain is still linked to a site.

  How can I unlink the domain from the site which i can no longer access?
