Unlink multiple blogs that are under one account

    Hello all,

I am new to WordPress, but I tried searching in the forum for relevant posts and could not find any.

Here’s my issue (I’ll try to explain as best as I can)

I have a primary blog (Blog A). I wanted a 2nd completely unrelated blog but in the same account, which I learned you can do by “registering a new blog” in your dashboard. I did this, and made Blog B.

Let’s say Blog A is about dolphin friendly tuna and Blog B is about Bob Ross. Completely unrelated. And let’s say I want my dolphin friendly tuna blog to be read ONLY by other dolphin friendly tuna fans, and Bob Ross is open to everyone. I didn’t create two separate accounts because I liked the idea of having one sign in for all my blogs. However, I don’t want them to be linked or to reference each other at ALL.

In the primary Blog A, you can edit the profile what your public name, etc. to whatever. Let’s say I put my public name as “TOM” and in the “About You” section I put “TESTING”.

Now that’s fine and dandy, but I noticed that when I post in Blog B it said “posted by TOM” (the same public name as Blog A) when you click on the “About Me” section, it says “TESTING” (as Blog A does). Even when you change the public name to something that can be used for both, when you hover over the hyperlink with the mouse, it gives the name of Blog A still. (ie: http://BlogB.wordpress.com/author/BlogA).. so essentially, you can still find the name of the primary Blog A. Is there any way to change this so that it doesn’t link to the primary account? Also, what if I wanted to have different information in the “About You” section for each blog? If not, is the only other solution to transfer the blog to an entirely separate and new account?

I apologize if this is too confusing.. I hope someone understands where I am trying to get at :)

    Thanks so much in advance!

Just open another account – you will need a different email address – (you just need the account not another blog) – then add the new user name to the blog you now want to post to – no need to separate the blogs – you will need to sign-in with the second name when you post to the second blog.

You will need to log-out of your first account to open the second account.

Hey, whogoofed, when you did that, were you able to put different information in the “About You” sections of the two blogs, or were they still linked?

The “About You” page is separate for each blog. The information you put in any blog here is separate from the others unless you copy and paste info into a second blog or add a RSS headline widget to the sidebar that shows Post titles from another blog.
