Unlinking an old Twitter account
-
I created an old twitter account when I first started my wordpress. I changed the twitter name, and someone took over my old name. Now, whenever someone tries to “share this” through twitter, it only links to @mrstesterman instead of @kctesterman. Help!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hello,
In your dashboard, when you go to Settings=>Sharing, in the Publicize section, is your Twitter currently connected to any account?
Or also check the field “Twitter username to include in tweets when people share using the Twitter button.” and update accordingly.
Let us know if you get it to work or not. ^^

By the way, something fun you could do with your Twitter, would be to enable Twitter summary cards. This way whenever you Publicize your new posts to Twitter, a summary will also display in the timeline.
More information to do this here: https://dev.twitter.com/cards/overview -
@kctest314 – You might need Staff to do this for you, so I’ve tagged this thread for their assistance.
Please be patient while waiting for them to get back to you since they work through threads from oldest to newest. When you add a new reply, it bumps it lower in their queue. If you haven’t already, you’ll want to subscribe to this thread from the “Subscribe to Topic” link in this thread’s sidebar.

Thanks everyone for the help! I went to the settings that guaiva above said to check. I just deleted and then re-set the twitter account, and now it worked. Thanks for all the help!

Okay, so I take it back. I went to the actual blog, and clicked on the tweet share this…it still goes to @mrstesterman (my old account), while everything else G+, FB, etc. go to all the newest information. Ugh!

Okay, so sorry to be totally annoying…I deleted my whole post, and then published it again. It worked. Thanks again.
