Hello
I’d like to post a page to share with a few folks, but not the online public at large. How can I remove it from the page list in the right margin on my home page?

Hi there –
You can make a password protected page, where the user needs a designated password to access it. Here’s how you set up the protected page: https://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/page-visibility/
You could use a simple text widget to add a link to the password page on the front page of the site.

Hello Liz, and thanks for the prompt response.
I may not have been clear on what I’m asking. I don’t really want to deal with passing along a password. I’d like to page to be public, so folks I tell about it can simply click the link I give them, but I don’t want the link to it to be visible on my site, so is there any way to remove it from the page list that appears in the right hand margin of my home page?

Yes, we should be able to do that. What is the site address? I’ll take a look.
As long as the page is published and active the URL to it will work, it does not need to b physically linked on the site anywhere.

My home page is at fromanunlikelysource.wordpress.com. I’m trying to remove the SONGS page (fromanunlikelysource.wordpress.com/songs, oddly enough) from the list.
Now, will there be any problem in reversing this should I decide to make it visible again?

Yeah, we can definitely get this configured.
Do you want to keep the Pages Widget in your sidebar and just remove the Songs page? Or remove the entire widget all together? This is just your preference, either way is fine.
To configure or delete the widget you’ll click on My Sites > Customize > Widget > Pages
If you decide later on that you want to include the link to the Songs page in that Pages Widget or in the site menu down the road you can definitely do that so long as the page hasn’t been deleted.
