Unlock domain bought via WordPress to transfer it to BlueHost

  Hi, I need to unlock my domain (www.cavemum.com), which I bought through WordPress but which apparently is held at Wild West Domains, but I can’t find any link to help me to do that. Please advise, thankyou.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hey there!

  While it appears as if you’ve managed to unlock your domain on your own, I wanted to confirm this with you. To access the control panel for your domain, you can click here:

  https://cavemum.wordpress.com/wp-admin/paid-upgrades.php?page=domains

  Then, select Edit Domain. Then, Transfer Domain.

  After you take that action, you should be able to complete the steps on your own. However, if you have any trouble at all, please do let me know exactly when the problem takes place during your process. I can assist further.

  Thanks for your reply! Yes I managed to stumble my way through it in the end, with the help of posts in the WP forum, but am now just waiting for my registrar to release my domain so I can transfer it to Blue Host. I’m guessing this is why so far my WP installation on BlueHost isn’t showing (i.e. I log in via WP.org and it still shows the same dashboard as for .com). Might there be another reason why it hasn’t fully transferred? Thankyou so much for your help!

  Hi again,

  I’m not sure what’s happened but now when I go to my site (either cavemum.com or cavemum.wordpress.com) it just goes straight to a blank page on bluehost!! Is it just taking a long time to propagate? Heeeelp….thankyou!!

  (I did get an email from blue host telling me that the domain transfer was a success.)

  Hi there!

  I do see that that http://cavemum.com/ now maps to Bluehost, so you appear to be transferred.

  You can also detach the domain mapping from your WordPress.com site to avoid any confusion or interference. To do so, click the link below:

  https://cavemum.wordpress.com/wp-admin/paid-upgrades.php?page=my-upgrades

  Then, click Cancel where you see your Domain Mapping upgrade.

  Hello again,

  Thanks for the link. Unfortunately when I click it it says I can’t cancel the upgrade, I have to contact Support and ask them to do it! Can I do this through you? Many many thanks.
