Unlocking a domain!

    I had a a WordPress account that I deleted and I want to create a new website using the same domain. I deleted the first account yesterday and created the new one shortly after that and when I try to use my domain it says it was used previously by another user and that I may try again later or contact support. How do I fix that?

    I am afraid you won’t be able to re-use your deleted domain because once a site is deleted its username and site address is blocked to prevent impersonation.

    You can fix this issue by restoring your deleted account (This will also restore your deleted website)

    Once you have recovered your website successfully, you can Empty your website to delete all the content (Pages,Post & Images).

    So that you can fresh start on your WordPress.com website once again.

    @ratneshsonar     is correct. If you’re wanting to use your domain under a different WordPress.com account or at a different host, you should never cancel it at your current host – once you decide to cancel your domain, there is no guarantee that you will be able to reacquire it in the future. Someone else could gain access to it. Also, it usually takes a few weeks for your domain registration to clear and become available once you cancel it. There isn’t an exact time, however, so you’ll be checking consistently to see when it becomes available.

    If you want me to try and recover the domain, please provide me the domain and site URL that you deleted and I’ll try to take care of that for you.

    Once I recover everything, all you will need to do is transfer the domain to the different WordPress.com account following these steps:

    I’ll be happy to contact the registrar to see if we can restore the domain back to your account, but I cannot guarantee that we will be able to get the domain back.
