Unmap Domain
-
Hello,
I recently deleted my blog, but I did not unmap the domain. I need to unmap it so I can continue using the domain through the WordPress app I installed.
I just wanted to know the process for doing this, and will be happy to provide the needed information

Did you register the domain with WordPress.com or from another domain registrar? If the latter, you just need to change your DNS servers back to them.
If the former follow these instructions for creating custom DNS records here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/custom-dns/

If I understand correctly, you purchased a domain through WordPress.com but have now chosen to switch to a WordPress.org self-hosted site.
You can set your domain to point to any host you need. Just follow the steps here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/privacy-settings/

My apologies, I copied the wrong URL. https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/move-domain/

Sorry, I’m not terribly knowledgeable when it comes to these things. I have someone else helping me set all this up.
The domain was purchased elsewhere, already owned, and we moved it to WordPress, which ended up not being what we’d intended. We need to unmap it from WordPress so it stops redirecting to the deleted blog.

Even if I wanted to edit my domains, they don’t appear to load on the appropriate screen to do so.

If your domain is registered somewhere else, then you will need to log in to that registrar and make the adjustments. You will have to talk to them about this.
