Unmap Domain to Map to Another WP Blog

    Hello :)

    I currently have ioannablogs.com mapped to one of my blogs (changed its main address to https://ioannablogs.wordpress.com/). I would like to unmap it from that one and use it for my other WP.com blog iaggelidaki.wordpress.com.

    I read in the forum that I’d need staff help for this, so thank you in advance :)

    One question, after I set the new domain (ioannablogs.com) on the old blog (iaggelidaki.wordpress.com) will the old domain redirect to the new one?

    Hi there,

    I have transferred the mapping subscription of ioannablogs.com from ioannablogs.wordpress.com to iaggelidaki.wordpress.com per your request.

    One question, after I set the new domain (ioannablogs.com) on the old blog (iaggelidaki.wordpress.com) will the old domain redirect to the new one?

    Yes, once you set ioannablogs.com as your primary domain, iaggelidaki.wordpress.com does forward to your custom domain.

    thank you so much for the fast reply! :)

    At the moment when I type iaggelidaki.wordpress.com I am redirected to my other blog ioannablogs.wordpress.com.

    Sorry for the confusion, I’d like my iaggelidaki.wordpress.com blog simply change it’s domain address to ioannablogs.com, but you know, maintain the current content and theme and everything – cause the ioannablogs.wordpress.com will be shut down.

    How can I make this happen?

    Hi there,

    I am not seeing that on my end. Can you try accessing your site again? iaggelidaki.wordpress.com is connected to ioannablogs.com and ioannablogs.wordpress.com is no longer connected to a custom domain.

    What you describe shouldn’t be possible since your two WordPress.com domains are not connected in anyway.

    It is very weird, this redirection that makes no sense is happening in the browser I am logged in, but when I try browsing incognito then it’s exaclty what you describe! I suppose I have to clean my cookies and it should be fine :)

    Yep, I was gonna recommend you to clear your cache and cookies because it sounds like a caching issue for sure!

    HELP PLEASE!! I have the same/similar issue.

    I just purchased the domain busklv.info, but it was mapped to mathdropout.wordpress.com. I didn’t realize that I needed to “Add New WordPress” prior to buying the domain. I need it mapped to busklv.wordpress.com.

    From what I can gather on the internet, I need staff assistance to “unmap” and then “re-map” (?) busklv.info.
