Unmap my domain please
-
Recently I have created WP.COM blog databazedoodle.wordpress.com and redirected the wordpress domain to the mapped domain doodledatabaze.cz. Now I want to switch from WP.COM to self-hosted WP.ORG site, but I can not run installation of WP.ORG publishing system on the mapped domain. So I would like to ask you to unmap my doodledatabaze.cz domain (I tried to unmap the domain by myself, but if I am right, it can be done only by WP staff).
Thank you in advance. The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
I removed and refunded the domain mapping for doodledatabaze.cz for you, so you’re all set. (In the future, if you need you can manage upgrades on WordPress.com sites from your My Upgrades page.)
Please let me know if I can do anything more to help. :)
-
Hello, thank you very much for your fast reply and unmapping of my domain. I need no other help at the moment. All the best :)

Hi there, well, it seems I need your help after all :) I have just uploaded WP.ORG publishing system on my domains FTP, but when I enter the domain doodledatabaze.cz into the browser and want to install WP.ORG publishing system I receive just following warning:
“Warning! Domain mapping upgrade for this domain not found. Please log in and go to the Domains Upgrades page of your blog to use this domain.”
I am not sure, but maybe I just need to wait for one-two days because name server changes take time to fully propagate. Am I right? If not, what can/should I do to fully “liberate” doodledatabaze.cz domain from WP.COM mapping?
-
Hi there,
I checked your domain doodledatabaze.cz and I see that the name servers are pointed elsewhere (not to WordPress.com). You’re right that this is just a propagation issue — it can sometimes takes up to 72 hours to see that kind of change take effect everywhere, especially on a computer you used to visit the domain before making that change. :)

I’m trying to remove mapping from my blog as well, can you help? Because I’m getting the “Uh oh! Your blog’s domain outdoorlatino.org expired 21 days ago!” and I already moved that domain name to another registrar.
Thank you!

Hi there, you need to ask WP.com staff to unmapp your domain. You can do it here on this forum. BTW, nameserver changes can take a day or two to fully propagate so you may need to be patient for that to happen.

Hey there Jose,
Looks like someone already took care of that for you. Your site is all good!
Have a great week.

Hi Staff. I’ve done my best to solve this on my own but it looks like I’ll need a hand: I changed domain name registrars and now can’t get to my blog; apparently it’s needs to be unmapped like the ones above. Thanks in advance for your help!
The “real” url is skyfutonsockfun.wordpress.com
The domain name is sonofstuckfunky.com

Hi @TFHackett,
Your domain actually looks to be just fine. I even just now tried setting it as the primary domain for your site and it’s working perfectly.
If you still want the domain mapping removed, I can do so. But for now at least it seems good!

Hello – I too have the same issue. I would like to ‘unmap’ my domain from my wordpress account. I’ve already registered the domain with GoDaddy and transferred it but I’m still getting the ‘domain expired’ page. The domain is omnomlagos.com – please help!
-
@omnomlagos – Your domain seems to be working okay:
Let me know if I can help further!

Hi there! I’d also like to unmap my domain from my wordpress account. My domain is thegatheringstudio.com – Thank you!
-
It looks like the domain thegatheringstudio.com isn’t currently registered. Did you mean to register that domain, rather than map it?
http://who.is/whois/thegatheringstudio.com
I’ve cleared the Domain Mapping for thegatheringstudio.com on your account.
