Unmovable Widgets?

  I selected “Under the Influence” as my theme. This theme features calendar, tag & archive widgets centered across the bottom. I don’t want any widgets there, nor do I — at the moment, anyway — want calendar or tag widgets at all. While I successfully dragged blogroll & archive widgets to sidebar which is where I want them, I can’t seem to remove those bottom widgets. When I’m at widget-dragging page, these bottom widgets don’t appear as having been dragged to the bars they apparently occupy. Are they perhaps built into the theme and not removable?
