Unparking domain
-
My domain richtranmedia.com is being parked after I cancelled my site. How can I get it unparked?

Hi there,
By cancelling the domain you gave up ownership of the domain. Cancelled domains are not released immediately, and there’s no guarantee you’ll be able to use a domain again, so you should only ever cancel a domain if you don’t want to use it at all any more.
In this case your domain won’t become available again until after it expires in March next year. I can restore it to your WordPress.com account, and then you can use it with a site here or a site hosted elsewhere, and after 60 days you can transfer it away from us if you choose. But there is no way to release the domain manually so you can register it somewhere else.
If you want to restore the domain, you’ll need to create a new WordPress.com site and purchase a plan for that site under My Site ->Plans as your original site has been deleted and the payment refunded. Let me know once you’ve done that and I can reactivate the domain for you.

If you could restore the domain to my wordpress account that would be great. I’ve created another site with a different plan.

I can see the new site in your account, but it’s still on the free plan, so I cannot reconnect the domain to it. Can you please go to My Site ->Plans and purchase a plan from there? Then the domain can be restored again using the free domain credit in the plan.
If you want to use the domain with a site not on WordPress.com, let me know.

I would like to use that domain on a site that is not wordpress.com. Is there another way for me to get that domain without having to pay 35 bucks for another plan?
-
I have sent you a payment link via email for the cost of the domain. I’ll be notified once we receive your payment, then I can activate the domain for you.
To use the domain with another hosting provider, you’ll need that provider’s name servers or IP address. Please contact them to get that information, then I can show you how to add it to your domain once it’s reactivated.

I have just paid it, I plan to use the domain for another website provider. Can you walk me through that process?
-
We’ve received your payment, thank you. I’ve reactivated the domain on your account.
As I said above, to point the domain to another provider you’ll need either their name servers or their IP addresses. You then need to add those to your domain.
Click on My Site ->Domains, and click on the domain. Click on Name Servers and DNS, and either enter the name servers, or click on Edit DNS to add an A-record with the IP address. More detailed instructions here:
