  I don’t want to delete this site permanent, but I would like to unpublish the site so it does not come up in searches. Is that possible?

  Hi there,

  You can do this by setting your site to private. You’ll find this settings under Settings ->General in the dashboard:

  https://wordpress.com/en/support/settings/privacy-settings/

  You can also change it so your site’s still accessible to anyone who knows the URL, but invisible to search engines.

  Note that any content on your site that’s already indexed by search engines will continue coming up in searches for a while, but if your site is private, anyone clicking on the link will just land on a page saying it’s private. Either of those settings will prevent new content you publish from being indexed.
