unpublish my website

  I want to take down my website for now.Can i delete my website for now and shall i be able to use same domain name in future if i want to use it again ? Help me as i want to unpublish my website for now definitely!

  Hi there,

  You don’t need to delete your whole website!! Please don’t delete it completely if you want to reuse the domain name in future as it may not become available again, and even if it does someone could get it before you have a chance to.

  I want to take down my website for now.

  There are two ways of going about this: You can set your site to Private or, as you asked in your previous thread, if you want to start again, but keep the domain name, delete your content.

  To set a site to Private go to My Site > Manage > Settings, find Privacy Settings and change it to Private. Make sure to save these settings. https://wordpress.com/support/privacy-settings/

  On the same page, at the end, you will find an option to Delete your Content. That will keep the domain name but reset your site.

  Have you noticed that you have received replies about resetting your website at https://wordpress.com/forums/topic/reset-my-website-6/? If possible please try to keep updates about this in one of these threads.

  Above both mentioned solutions will not work as they both will not make my website unpublish or unlive.But i want that my website should be not live for now, please help me.

  The instructions above will work for sites hosted here at WordPress.com. What is the full address of your site? Is it hosted here?
