Unpublished pages being viewed

I noticed that someone went to my site and found/viewed my unpublished pages. Just wondering how that could be. Can someone shed some light on this? Thanks!

That is kinda weird. Unpublished pages should not be available for viewing. Did you give permission for someone to view the page, maybe as an editor? How are you able to know that someone viewed the pages?
What is the link to the page in question? I’d like to see if I can view them and give you some feedback.

I was able to know by looking at the stats. I was doing some research and found this page: https://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/page-visibility/. It seems that even when the page’s not published or hidden, you still need to set the visibility? Although I still can’t figure out in what ways people can find unpublished pages.. any thoughts on this? And, no, I never gave permission to view as an editor.
Also, I’d really would like to take out my url from this post. How can I do that? Thanks again.

Hm.
Page visibility is for published pages. Unless there is a bug or something page visibility should not impact unpublished pages.
I will tag this for a staff follow-up. I am a volunteer. The staff has some special tools they can use to better examine your particular issue. Be patient though as staff works in the order of requests received. Also, make sure you subscribe to this thread by clicking “notify me” below.
For removing urls that will be something staff can address.

err.. I just checked again.. it seems that those pages were published. So I guess my question is really how people can locate them even they are not showing as links.
*Hope to get help remove the the url from staff soon.

Right so here is kinda how it works.
When a page gets published it automatically gets a link. Once it is published it becomes publicly available and anyone can use Google to find that page. Even though the page is not on your menu it is available.
The only way around it is to adjust the page or post visibility to private that way nobody can see it (they could still FIND it…because it is publicly available but nobody could SEE it) OR you could make your entire site private OR you could tell WordPress.com to “discourge search engines” from indexing your site.
