Unrecognized email/user name
-
Hello,
I have built a free website through WordPress.com After a year or so, I was just about to edit it in the WP-Admin section. However, although I have the admin name (which is my email) and the password, it seems that it does not find my user name.
There is an option to recover that with a proof of ownership, but I did not purchase anything- I have used the free option for building the website.
Other options to prove ownership are activation URL and key or authentication codes, but I do not have those either.Again, I do have my admin name and password, but it does not recognize my admin name.
Thank you

Hello there,
Many thanks for reaching out.
Are you able to confirm the URL of the website that you need assistance with please?

Thanks for that. To clarify things a bit, there are three different “WordPress” at play here:
1. The free, open-source WordPress software which powers your website.
2. WordPress.org which is the open-source project that works on the WordPress software and where you can get the software for free to use on your own hosting provider.
3. WordPress.com which is a managed hosting provider of the WordPress software and with whom you’re contacting now.Your site is not hosted here at WordPress.com, so we’re limited to what we can help with here but I can get you pointed in the right direction to get help.
Your login page can be found here: https://www.solomonconservation.com/wp-login.php
If the admin name and password don’t work there, you should be able to click the “Lost password” link to reset the password.
If you still have trouble, you should reach out to your host for help with this issue. Since they’re hosting your site’s files, they also have access to those files and are the best ones to help you regain access to your site.
I hope that helps!
