Unrequested User name change
-
Hi, I’m an admin on a private chat blog. One of our regular commenters has pointed out that her User name has changed without her requesting this. Until 6.44pm on 11/11/16 she posted as RebeccaRiots2, but from 7.08pm the same day, her name appears as Rebecca dRiots2. Has anyone any experience of this happening and how can it be reversed? Thanks.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi,
You identify the commenter as a “User,” but there is no indication that the individual is a WordPress.com member. Certainly she was not logged into a WordPress.com account when using either of the usernames that you mention. In fact, these are not existent WordPress.com usernames. Even if rebeccariots2 were a WordPress.com username, then when she entered the email address required of non-logged in WordPress.com members, then the comment form would automatically fill out the username and gravatar profile page. And consequently, when a comment by that username was posted both the username and the thumbnail would be links, as is the case with your comments on the post Saturday 12th.November, for example.
A likely reason for the change would be copy and paste error. Sometimes while highlighting text in a hurry, we may rearrange characters, or even add another character inadvertently. Once the name was entered incorrectly once, then it might be saved, depending upon browser settings.

Correction:
…then the comment form would automatically fill out the username and gravatar profile page fields (or boxes).
