Unresponsive Sidebar information
-
I am currently using The Untitled theme and my Sidebar is not responsive when I view my website on smaller devices. Primarily the phone, the information on the sidebar is truncated. Is there a way to add the information in my Sidebar alternatively to a Footnote instead? My theme does not come with Footnotes so I would have to add them if that is even possible. Thanks! For an example of what I am talking about you can go to the home page on my site here: https://missingbuttonentertainment1.wordpress.com

Have you checked here to see if Untitled is a responsive layout theme or not?https://theme.wordpress.com/themes/features/responsive-layout/?sort=free
The mobile ready theme is default and a completely different theme that you do not need to enable at all.
A responsive layout theme adapts to different screen sizes so that your website will work (and be optimized for) iPhones, iPads, Android and other mobile devices. When responsive width themes are viewed on mobiles sidebars appear below the posts in order to provide as much space as possible for reading.
When we use a responsive theme we disable the mobile theme. Go to > Appearance > Mobile and disable the mobile theme.

No themes come with “footnotes”.
Specifically re: footnotes see here https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/posting-of-word-files-with-tables/page/2?replies=6#post-1713016
You may want to try using Windows Live Writer http://en.support.wordpress.com/xml-rpc/windows-live-writer/

Yes that is one of the reasons why I grabbed The Untitled theme because it was a responsive theme. The mobile theme is not enabled, just double checked. Everything else responds beautifully and yes the sidebar information goes below the main column posts, but the information is truncated for some reason.

I’ve actually had more than one theme that I have worked with have Footnotes as options to place the Widgets within actually.

The issue of the footnote is when I add the widgets, I’ve had other themes that offered a Footnote location and also the Sidebar location for placement.

Thanks for the responsinator information. I still don’t see why the entire information within the Sidebar on my website does not show up on all the smaller devices, there appears to be plenty of space allotted for the information if it would just shift correctly.

Yes footer widgets, I figured since we were in the Widgets forum that would have been apparent but that’s my fault for not clarifying. I know that some themes have Sidebar and Footer widgets. The Untitled is what I using and I only see the Sidebar, but wasn’t sure if there was a way to add Footers as well without having to switch themes. Thanks!

@bslaroc, it’s outside the scope of the support we can offer here, but you would be welcome to create a child theme for a WordPress.org installation: https://codex.wordpress.org/Child_Themes
You might also consider hiring a developer to help. Major changes to layouts on responsive themes will take time and testing because of the way those changes can affect layouts on different devices.

Ah, now I see the site that is here, too… I was clicking through to your .com version which is not here.
I can see the issue though. Some CSS you added recently makes the sidebar quite narrow. This continues to apply even on smaller screens. Replacing it with something like this, which makes these rules only apply if the screen is wide enough, may help:
@media screen and (min-width: 966px) { div#secondary { width: 27%; float: left; } .col-right { width: 45%; float: right; } }By the way, you can test CSS changes by clicking on the icons near the bottom of your customizer. You’ll want to do this and carefully review your site before applying CSS changes, particularly if they affect layout:
