unsubscribe from comments

    My emails are coming in a different form which no longer has the “unsubscribe” option for comments. Further more I can’t find the subscribed comments in my subscriptions section. I’m getting too many emails now. Is the “unsubscribe” coming back to the bottom of the emails? its driving me balmy!

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    SAME HERE PLEASE HELP.

    Click this link > https://en.forums.wordpress.com/tags/unsubscribe
    Then look at the threads there for answers. I found this for you > Go to Dashboard >> Settings >> Email Post Changes >> Un-tick ‘Send an email when a post or page changes.’>>Save Changes! Done!

    @lac321
    Please note that it’s important not to type in all capital letters. In cyberspace that’s the equivalent to shouting into someone’s face. Doing this more than once will not bring an answer forth quickly, if at all.

    Also note that the site you have linked to your WordPress.com username is not a WordPress.com blog so you will want to change that. It’s easily done. Dashboard -> Users -> Personal Settings -> then scroll down to Account Details. Then scroll down to where it says ‘Website‘ select the URL for your primary wordpress.com blog and then save changes.

    Now every time you sign into the forum we can all click on your username and your blog will be linked to it. And every time you leave a comment on a blog your username can be likewise clicked and your blog can be instantly located.

    @timethief
    Thanks for finding that, but it doesn’t fix my problem. I don’t get emails when a post or page changes. I subscribed to a specific blog post’s comments on someone else’s blog. I used to be able to click “unsubscribe” when I got the comment emails, but that’s not an option anymore. The link to “get less email” just takes me to my subscriptions page and only shows the *blogs* I subscribe to, not the *comments.*

    And although I appreciate you pointing out the link to my username, I’m not entirely sure why I would need that to link to my blog. Does it matter that much?

    And sorry about the all caps, but I didn’t necessarily need the condescending tone. The comment emails are driving me batty.

    Here’s the link for Staff. http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/ You must use the searchbox first. After you use the searchbox at the bottom of the page there will be a section that says “Have you found the answer to your question?” You can choose either “Yes I found the answer to my question.” or “No I didn’t find the answer to my question and I would like to contact support for help.” The no option will reveal the contact form.

    @ timethief Yes the problem lac321 laid out is exactly what I mean. I don’t want to stop all emails from updates. Let’s say I subscribed to 20 comments on different posts. Because of the number of emails you used to be able to click the unsubscribe at the bottom of any of the emails and unsubscribe from that post comment only. You can manage it via you subscriptions, but I find it very difficult to find in that list which is veru long indeed. It is simply that the “unsubscribe” link is now missing from the emails and I want it back!

    Hi all! Click this link to manage your comments subscriptions: http://dashboard.wordpress.com/wp-admin/index.php?page=subscriptions&option=comments
    You’ll see there:

    This is the comment subscription
    page for yourname[at]email.com. You have x comment subscriptions and y site subscriptions.

    Click on “x comment subscriptions” to manage your subscriptions.

    @wpgaurav
    Thank you so much for posting that. I was unaware of it. Bookmarking!

    If you have a lot of subscriptions it a lot harder to do it from pages of listings than simply clicking “unsubscribe” on the bottom of an email but at least I’ll be able to find and delete them now. My real question was why did they delete the link from the Emails?

  • Unknown's avatar

    It’s not hard. In footer of each email you get a link to http://subscribe.wordpress.com at which you can easily change the frequency of emails or stop them at one click. Had you ever tried it?
