Unsubscribing

I subscribed to economist writing every day. Then I unsubscribed and my settings show that I am not following any blogs (and that I actually have all email reminders blocked) but I am still getting the posts daily. Oddly when I entered the URL of EWED into this help form, it claimed that was linked to another account but I don’t think that can be right because all this stuff has only ever happened from my work account. The only thing I can think of is that somehow the long for @leicester.ac.uk and @le.ac.uk forms of my address are in a muddle but I can’t control how my University does its email. Is it possible for someone to terminate this email sending? I don’t think there is anything else left that I can do.

It sounds like perhaps there could be an email or an email alias that may be subscribed.
What is the email address receiving posts? We may need to unpick where that’s being sent.

Thanks. The only possible emails related to this are (email visible only to moderators and staff) and (email visible only to moderators and staff) – I wonder if the problem is that my email account does not properly handle long/short forms so somehow I am subscribed with one variant but the emails are sent to the other?

It looks like it is that second email you listed. It appears to have a couple of blog subscriptions.
Can you do me a favor and try this?
– Log out of your WordPress.com account (or even better, use a private/incognito browser window)
– go to: https://subscribe.wordpress.com/
– Enter that email into the Manage Your Subscriptions box
– and follow the instructions (you should get an email to that address)Let us know if anything is unclear or you have any further questions.

I have tried this for each email address separately from an incognito window. Both show no subscriptions – I have scans of the “result” but don’t think I can upload them here. But I notice that whether I send an instruction for “le” or “leicester” the information it provides me is about the “leicester” subscription. So it is not clear how I “get at” any le subscription WordPress thinks I have.

Since the email address that appears to be causing the issues is not the one that is associated with your WordPress.com account, I can’t just delete the subscriptions for you.
So what I will do is to email you at that address. Just reply to the email once you get it and we can go from there.
