Unsubscribing Whithout WordPress.com account

  Most of my subscribers do not have a wordpress.com account. They have only given their email address. If they want to unsubscribe, they use to be able to simply click on the “Manage Subscriptions” link in the email and it would bring them to a page where they could uncheck a blog they wish to unsubscribe. But now, it seems this link brings them to the wordpress.com homepage. When I check the support page for what is now called Unfollowing (http://en.support.wordpress.com/subscriptions/), it does not talk about people who don’t have a wordpress.com account.

  There should be an unsubscribe link at the bottom of the emails they receive which they can use.

  Apparently the email link doesn’t work for non-wordpress.com users. They need to go to http://subscribe.wordpress.com/ instead.

  I’m afraid there is no specific unsubscribe button. All that’s available is the following sentence: “Unsubscribe or change your email settings at Manage Subscriptions“. When clicking the link, you get to the WordPress.com homepage.

  Thanks wank. I guess I was drafting my reply while you posted.

  It’s always good to see you’re not alone with the same problem. I did a search before posting but I guess the title of this other post didn’t ring similar to my problem :)
