Unsure if I cancelled just my subscription or if I removed my domain as well.

Last night, I decided that I wanted more control in terms of fonts and themes, so I cancelled the hosting portion of my subscription and received the refund for that. However I did not get a refund for the domain and I can’t see the domain name. I think I messed up bad and fear that I’ve lost my domain name permanently…is that true?

Or do you wish to completely give up ownership of it?It is important to know that cancelled domains are not released by the registrar immediately. Also note that here’s no guarantee you’ll be able to use a domain again as it may be sold to someone else. Therefore you should cancel a domain, if and only if, you are sure you do not wish to use it again.

When you register a domain with WordPress.com, we point it to your WordPress.com blog. But you don’t have to use it that way – you can make your domain point to any site you want.

OK, I was able to get it back for you, so that’s in your account again. Where will you be pointing the domain now?
Generally you can use either these steps:

http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/custom-dns/… to get the domain pointing to your new host. And if they allow incoming domain transfers, you can transfer the registration itself, too, after 60 days:
