Untitled Theme Issue
-
I am trying out the Untitled Theme and I really love all the options. However, I can’t seem to get my blog name to appear in the header. My blog is colorformtexture.wordpress.com.

Hi there,
It looks like you decided to switch from the Untitled Theme to the Twenty Eleven theme. Do you still have a question about this header issue? If so, please let me know and I will be happy to help!

Sure! The default setup for the Untitled theme places the site title (blog name) in the upper left part of the page, in the black bar. You can see how this looks on the Untitled Demo site here:
http://untitleddemo.wordpress.com/
In this case, the site title is “Untitled” in the upper left. Does that help clarify the theme setup? Since you aren’t using the theme on your blog anymore I’m not sure if that answers the question you had about your blog specifically, so please let me know if you have other questions about this.

Yes, I still want/need the answer. So to make it easier, I switched themes back to “Untitled”. I have used my own image for the header. As you’ll see, my blog title is not visible. Also, neither is my header photo as wide as the demo…so can you help with that also. And lastly, just for fun, I tried to display a background in the custom design tool but it is not visible at all. Again, I really like the features of this theme and would like to use as many options as possible. My blog is: colorformtexture.wordpress.com.
Kind regards.

Thanks for switching your blog back to the Untitled theme — that makes it a lot easier for me to see what’s happening for you. :)
I have used my own image for the header. As you’ll see, my blog title is not visible.
I checked with our theme team, and the title and tagline are not meant to be displayed when you have a custom header image in the Untitled theme. The header image is meant to be a logo, to replace the title and tagline. (We are working on updating the support page for this theme to clarify this.)
Also, neither is my header photo as wide as the demo…so can you help with that also.
Do you mean the image below the black bar on the Untitled demo site? This is actually a slider, not a header image. Here are instructions for setting up the Untitled front page slider:
- Navigate to Settings → Reading.
- Scroll down to the section labeled “Featured Content”.
- Enter the name of a tag.
- Click the blue “Save Changes” button at the bottom.
- Create a post with a featured image that’s at least 1024px wide.
- Note: The featured image will look best at these dimensions: 1440px wide, 400px tall.
- Give the post the tag you declared under Settings → Reading → Featured Content.
You can find the instructions for this and other features in the Untitled theme on the Untitled theme support page.
And lastly, just for fun, I tried to display a background in the custom design tool but it is not visible at all.
Thanks for pointing this out! It looks like there is a bug with the way the background image is being displayed in this theme. I have reported this to our theme team, so we should be able to get that fixed.
If you have any other questions, please let me know! :)

Hi, Rachel. Thanks so much for your response.
In regards to issues 1 & 2, I’ll try two things to see which one I like best. I’ll try the “slider” option that you point out and see if that gives me a blog title/header image kind of look. If not, I’ll insert text onto my header image to work around and get what I want.
Regarding issue #3, I’ll check option going forward to try it once the bug has been fixed.
Thanks for your responses.

Great! Please let me know if you have any additional questions about the slider or the header image in the Untitled theme. :)

Hi there,
I wanted to let you know that we fixed the issue in the Untitled theme where the custom background image wasn’t showing up properly. Your blog is looking beautiful with the Quintus theme, but I wanted you to know in case you want to give the Untitled theme another try. :)
