Untitled Theme Issue: Title Text Wrapping
-
Hello,
I switched over to the “Untitled” theme and love it, but on the index page, some of the titles of my posts are displaying improperly. Rather than bumping the text down to the next line if it’s too long to properly display, it simply cuts the word off and continues it on the next line. For example, “Hannibal Renewed” should display as
Hannibal
Renewed!but instead shows up as
Hannibal Renewe
d!What’s strange is that this doesn’t affect all of the longer titles, as some of them that are long enough to be multi-line display just fine (and on more lines than the problematic ones).
Movie Review:
Voyage of the
Dawn Treaderspreads properly over three lines, but
Pacific Rim
Wondercon Trail
erand
Movie Review: The
Hobbit: An
Unexpected Jour
neybreak in improper places.
Does anyone have any ideas?

You can make the titles break more gracefully.
For some reason wp.com is set up so that there is not a single “orphan” word on a line (title) so it will cause odd hyphenation, cutting a word awkwardly.
For example:
Movie Review:
Voyage of the
Dawn Treaderleaves two words on the third line.
But there would be only one word on the 3rd line of this:Pacific Rim
Wondercon Trail
erWhich looks less literate than have a single whole word in the last line.
You can fix that like so:
use the html entity & # 8201 ; (without the spaces) The entity is call ed “thin space” and it will for a line break in a sensible way…Example:
Movie Review: The Hobbit: An Unexpected & # 8201 ; Journey
(don’t forget to remove the spaces)
Should then appear as
Movie Review: The
Hobbit: An
Unexpected
Journey -
