Untitled theme problems

  • Unknown's avatar

    Greetings,

I have been attempting to create a blog using the untitled theme for 3 days. No matter what I do I cannot seem to get the blog to appear the way it does in the preview. I also cannot get the banner to crop correctly and cover the entire area as shown in the preview. This is beyond frustrating.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi celliotthiphop, we’d love to help but your blog is marked private so non-staff board members can’t take a look at what might be going wrong.

If you can make it public so we can look at it, please also be specific and let us know what exactly you mean when you say it won’t appear the way it does in the preview.

In terms of the banner, what size banner are you trying to use? Is it large enough to cover the area?

There also might be some helpful instructions here, in terms of headers and sliders: Untitled theme

    Greetings Lettergrade,

Thanks for your response. I have made the blog viewable to all.
    To be specific:

    1. No matter how I size my image I cannot get it to appear full screen like it does in the template. If I make it bigger it actually shifts the image and still leaves space on the left side of the screen.

    2. I also cannot get the page bar to appear at the top over the image the way it does in the preview.

    3. I also would like to utilize the tagline space that is shown in the preview (The place where it says
    “Photos Ipsum Dolor……..blah blah blah)
but It dont know how to do so.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I want my blog to appear in exactly this format (As it does here in the pic):

Sure, have you followed the instructions on that page? http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/untitled/
It looks like you need to enter more content that can be displayed, and you need to assign Featured Images to that content. There’s also an ideal image size listed.

To set up Untitled’s Front Page Slider:

    1. Navigate to Settings → Reading.
    2. Scroll down to the section labeled “Featured Content”.
    3. Enter the name of a tag.
    4. Click the blue “Save Changes” button at the bottom.
    5. Create a post with a featured image that’s at least 1024px wide.
    6. Note: The featured image will look best at these dimensions: 1440px wide, 400px tall.
    7. Give the post the tag you declared under Settings → Reading → Featured Content.

To setup the mini carousel, any posts with a featured image, will appear in the mini carousel. Simple!

So far, it looks like you’ve entered one page, one post, and no featured image. Is that right?

As for image size, following the theme’s size recommendation will probably help, but it will always be displayed slightly differently at different screen sizes. That feature helps your site design adapt to look its best on all screens, tiny to large.

In my window no “featured content” Section comes up.

I’m a volunteer so I can’t access your dashboard to take a look, but you could post a screenshot here instead.
