Untitled Theme should play nicely with all WordAds placements

  I’m using the Untitled theme by Automattic and I’m also getting a note in my WordAds that says, “Your theme does not support all WordAds placements”. Since both of these things are beneficial to Automattic is there any way to slightly modify the Untitled theme to work with all WordAds placement?

  There isn’t a way for you to modify your theme to support all WordAds placements, but we hope to continue increasing the number of themes that support all ad placements.

  Thanks Rachel, I realize there’s nothing I can do to modify the theme to support the placements. I guess I am curious why Automattic would release such a great theme for it’s WordPress platform that doesn’t play nicely with it’s WordAds platform.

  Would it really be that difficult to slightly modify the Untitled theme, which is a great looking theme, to support all ad placements? To be honest I’m not even clear what placements it’s not compatible with but it seems that it would be a small change that would benefit everyone.

  Just something I was curious about. Thank you for your response.

  Hi there,

  All themes support simple ad placements, both at the bottom of the first post on the home page and at the bottom of the article pages. Themes that support all ad placements also support optimized ads, which are one or both of the following additional ad units: a Leaderboard horizontal unit in the header and a Skyscraper vertical unit in one of the sidebars.   We’re working on rolling out support for optimized ads to more and more themes over time. :)
