"Untrusted connection" notice
-
I’ve just been to a site which links to my blog, and found an alarm-bell sort of notice, saying that it is an “untrusted connection”.
This is VERY bad news, as you can imagine.
I have antivirus and so forth – so what is the problem, can you tell me?
Also –
The popup list prefixes my address with “http” instead of “https”
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi Diane.
The warning you’re seeing appears in FireFox at times when the browser isn’t able to verify the identity of a secure (https) site. Your site doesn’t have a virus and is perfectly safe in this instance. You mentioned that the link that led to the warning prefixes your site address with http, instead of https, which is likely the cause behind FireFox not being able to verify the identity of your site.
To find information on bypassing the warning in the future, and for more details behind the error, you can check out this support documentation from FireFox:
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/connection-untrusted-error-message
Hope that helps out! Please don’t hesitate to let me know if you have any extra questions around that.
