Untrusted connection on my website / mobile design not appearing
-
When you visit my home page (noahglick.com) and click the get started button, a message appears saying that the connection is untrusted as it is trying to connect to noahglick.com, but instead is coming up with wordpress.com. It is saying that the security certificate is only valid for wordpress.com.
How do I change this so I don’t freak people out who will visit my website?
Also, the mobile version of the site theme is not appearing as advertised. I have to select “View Full Site” in order to see the “mobile version” design. I use the Goran theme. Is there a way to fix this?
Thanks!

Hi there!
The security comes up is because you’re using the “https://” version of the URL for that button’s link.
If you’ll change the link to http://noahglick.com/contact/ , without the s, it will work without the warning.
The reason why is that we manage our SSL certificates under WordPress.com — from which we serve your content. Since you have the custom domain noahglick.com, if the browser tries to use https it will compare the site to its security certificate. You get the warning because noahglick.com doesn’t match WordPress.com.
We’re looking into a long-term fix for this, but right now don’t have a good solution. But so long as you point people to your site with http instead of https, that warning won’t appear.
Additionally, I’d recommend on that contact page using a Contact Form instead of posting your email address. It will help decrease your amount of spam email.
Also, the mobile version of the site theme is not appearing as advertised. I have to select “View Full Site” in order to see the “mobile version” design. I use the Goran theme. Is there a way to fix this?
Goran is considered mobile-ready without using our mobile theme. You currently have the mobile theme enabled instead of using Goran’s built-in mobile settings.
To adjust that, visit your site’s mobile settings here:
https://noahglickdotcom.wordpress.com/wp-admin/themes.php?page=mobile-options
Choose “No” for the “Enable Mobile Theme” option, then save changes. (Read more on this here.)
With those changes, your site will only load the “full site version”, not the WordPress.com mobile theme.

Thank you so much, Alex! This took care of all the issues for me. Also, I will put up a contact form here soon, just creating a page with placeholder content at the moment.
Thanks again!
