Unused URL

  I was about to start a new blog, and the URL I wanted is already in use, but the blog hasn’t been updated since 2006. The owner has moved on to a different website. Is there a process that WordPress can initiate to see if this URL can become available again? I wanted to use ‘www.nomi.wordpress.com’.

  Hi @naomiletchford. From my experience, it is not possible to use a URL for your website that is currently in use by another WordPress user. The only thing you can do is to try to contact the owner of the domain you want and see if they are willing to surrender the domain and delete their existing site.
